Our CPD programme is aligned to the CPD system introduced by the Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA) and supports lifelong learning for Healthcare Professionals. Our courses are accredited by the University of Pretoria, which is recognised by the HPCSA as an accreditor of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
Our courses are delivered in video format and are free of charge.
Healthcare Professionals should complete the assessment after the video lecture to obtain their CPD certificates. A minimum score of 70% is required.
Dr Danielle Lincoln
Dr Danielle Lincoln is a Palliative Medical Practitioner who previously worked at Witwatersrand Hospice for 17 years as a consultant from 1995 to 2012 and was the Medical Director there from 2002-2004. She qualified at the University of Witwatersrand in 1989 and completed a Masters in Palliative Medicine through Cape Town University in 2006.
Dr Lincoln spent eight years at Baragwanath Hospital: she completed her internship at the hospital and went on to work as a Medical Officer and then as a Research Officer. She has an interest in Sports Medicine and currently works as the Team Doctor to the South African Rowing Team. She is married with four sons and is currently living in Pretoria.
A Healthcare Professional is required to engage in CPD and accumulate CEUs per twelve-month period, of which a specific number of CEUs should be for ethics, human rights and health law.
All Healthcare Professionals shall ensure that they are in possession of a certificate of attendance for every activity they have attended.
They should keep these for at least two years so that their certificates will be available if required for a random compliance check.
